Arsenal considered Marcel Sabitzer over the summer and his future at Bayern Munich is now considered to be uncertain at best.
The Gunners were in the market for a midfielder and ended up signing Fabio Vieira from Porto.
Edu of course had other targets in mind and is still looking for another midfielder in 2023 amid links to Palmeiras star Danilo.
One player Arsenal considered signing may now be available in news that could catch the eye of Edu and Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal considered Marcel Sabitzer
Back in late April, German newspaper Bild claimed that Arsenal were back in the hunt for Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer.
Arsenal had considered Sabitzer in the summer of 2021 as he prepared to leave RB Leipzig.
However, Sabitzer chose a move to Bayern in order to reunite with his former Leipzig boss Julian Nageslmann.
The problem is that Sabitzer hasn’t hit his Leipzig heights in Bavaria and has only started seven league games this season.
Sabitzer now faces another issue as Bayern are pressing to sign his current Austria and former Leipzig teammate Konrad Laimer.
Laimer is out of contract in the summer and looks set to reunite with Nagelsmann at the Allianz Arena.
Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg now reports that Sabitzer’s future at Bayern is ‘uncertain’.
Laimer’s expected arrival and the potential of Ryan Gravenberch looks set to leave Sabitzer as the odd man out.
If Arsenal still fancy signing Sabitzer, the door is now very much open.
You can’t really imagine Sabitzer playing as a lone holding midfielder though, with this current Arsenal team a little difficult for Sabtizer to fit into.
Maybe Sabitzer can take on the Granit Xhaka role of playing high and wide in midfield, but the Gunners don’t really need that signing in January.
The 28-year-old is bound to attract Premier League interest once again but we can’t see Arsenal making a move this time around.
