CalcioMercatoWeb claim Marco Asensio has made a move to the Premier League his ‘priority’ amid interest from Arsenal and Manchester United. Juventus and AC Milan are also interested in the Real Madrid midfielder.

Asensio, 26, is likely to leave Madrid. The Spain international is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract. Last season, he played 42 times. But Asensio started just 23 times – completing 90 minutes on seven occasions.

Reports over the weekend said that Arsenal and Manchester United are showing interest in Asensio – with a fee of £42.6million required to nab his signature. But there is interest from Serie A, too.

CMW report that Juventus and Milan want Asensio – but also provide Arsenal and United a boost. They say that Asensio’s ‘priority’ is a move to the Premier League this summer. He prefers England, to Italy.

Asensio ‘priority’ is Premier League amid Arsenal interest

Asensio is a hugely exciting player. A playmaker that can play in a number of positions; either flank, central midfielder, as a 10 or even as a false nine. His tenacity and final-third quality certainly suits the Premier League.

Arsenal do have options like Asensio. Emile Smith-Rowe, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka. But if Asensio is available then they should go after him. Manchester United arguably need him more than the Gunners.

Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata are all leaving on a free transfer. United have Bruno Fernandes but with Asensio, they would have some magic between midfield and attack. £42.6million is a bargain.
