Manchester City are adamant that Raheem Sterling will not move in January amid links with a shock move to join Arsenal.
That’s according to The Sun, who claim that City have not given up hope of keeping Sterling.
The England international is inside the final two years of his contract, and City may be forced to sell next summer.
Sterling allegedly wants guarantees that he will be a key man at City. So far this season, Sterling has managed just two Premier League starts.
The 26-year-old has allegedly held a heart-to-heart meeting with Pep Guardiola and has indicated he will ‘give his all’ as a striker for City.
That’s not Sterling’s preferred role, but he just wants to play – and that has become more difficult with Phil Foden fit and Jack Grealish signed.
Sterling to Arsenal still seems like a pipe dream
The Daily Star reported earlier this month that Arsenal are tracking Sterling’s contract situation.

Sterling worked closely with Mikel Arteta at Manchester City, and Arsenal seemingly hope he would fancy a reunion.
Sure, maybe Sterling returns to London one day, but a move to Arsenal just doesn’t seem likely.
Arsenal will hope to make strides under Arteta, but the brutal reality is that they are a big step down from City right now.
Factor in the £300,000-a-week wages and the transfer fee needed to sign Sterling, and a deal with Arsenal seems very unlikely.
