Arsenal have decided that they will not increase their initial offer for Houssem Aouar, according to Le10 Sport.
What’s the story?
Le10 Sport are reporting that Arsenal will not make a second bid for Lyon midfielder Aouar.
The Gunners had made an initial offer of less than €20 million (£17.14m), but Lyon are looking for between €20 (£17.14) and €25 million (£21.43m) for the 23-year-old midfielder.
Arsenal have been holding talks with Lyon for more than a week, and now the North London club have indicated that they will not make a second bid.
Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United all remain keen on the midfielder, described as “incredible” by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on BBC Sport in November 2018.

Are Arsenal making a mistake?
What Lyon are asking for Aouar is not really a lot.
Arsenal can – at least should be able to – afford it.

Aouar is only 23 now, which means that the midfielder will get better in the coming years.
The Lyon no.8 has been superb in Ligue 1 over the years and is ready to take the next step in his career.
The youngster scored seven goals and gave three assists in 23 Ligue 1 starts last season.
