Spezia boss Luca Gotti has admitted that he is ‘not happy’ from a selfish perspective as Arsenal swoop in to sign Jakub Kiwior.

The Gunners have really ramped up their push for new signings since missing out on a deal for Mykhailo Mudryk last week.

Brighton and Hove Albion ace Leandro Trossard has arrived and it now looks like defender Kiwior is heading in too.

Fabrizio Romano claims that Arsenal have agreed a €25million (£22million) deal for Spezia defender Jakub Kiwior.

Romano adds that Kiwior has completed his medical and will sign a five-and-a-half-year deal with Arsenal very soon.

Despite links to Premier League rivals West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal appear to have won the race for Kiwior’s signature.

There is a chance that Kiwior attends today’s game against Manchester United with the Gunners moving rapidly to sign him.

This move seemed to come out of absolutely nowhere but Edu has clearly seen major potential in Kiwior.

The Polish centre back is a talented defender and offers Mikel Arteta another left-sided option to compete with Gabriel Magalhaes.

Spezia take on Roma today but Kiwior will not be involved as he goes through the final stages of his move to Arsenal.

Boss Luca Gotti has now been speaking about Kiwior’s move and it’s fair to say he has some mixed feelings about the move.

Gotti has told Tuttomercatoweb that he is happy for Kiwior as he makes a big move from a Serie A survival fight to a Premier League title chase.

Gotti did though add that he is ‘not happy’ from a selfish perspective as he feels he always has his best players sold, clearly believing that he will miss Kiwior moving forward.

“I am very happy for Kiwior and for the opportunity created,” said Gotti. “At the same time it is the club’s best sale ever and I probably think that the club is also happy, and hopefully it will be at the end of the journey as well. I’m not happy for myself. There are coaches who ask for reinforcements and signings, constantly complaining. I will never do it, but fate has befallen me in recent years that in every market the club where I am makes large capital gains and sells assets,” he added.
