An Arsenal player is facing potentially two months on the sidelines.
Nineteen-year-old goalkeeper was loaned out by Arsenal to Championship outfit Reading during the January transfer window.
And the Estonia international has featured prominently since leaving London Colney, starting five Championship outings under Paul Ince.
However, Hein was a notable absence for the 4-1 defeat by Blackpool on Saturday afternoon.
And Ince has confirmed to Get Reading that the Arsenal stopper could be missing for as long as two months after suffering a finger injury at home.
He said: “He fell in his house and took the ligament off his bone in his thumb so they’re talking four to six weeks out if he doesn’t need surgery or two months if it does.”
Devastating
Considering he’s still a teenager and already a full international goalkeeper, Hein has a big future in football.
However, this is his first experience of senior football at club level and to have his season potentially cut short like this is a devastating blow for the youngster.
If he is out for two months, that takes us to late April before he’s available for selection again and with Ince’s outfit in a relegation battle, he might not have the luxury of ushering the Arsenal talent immediately back into his starting lineup.
