Paul Merson has said on Sky Sports News (1:15pm, March 12, 2022) that Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves would be a good signing for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal or Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The former Arsenal star believes that Wolves star Neves is good enough to play for the Gunners or Liverpool.
The Sky Sports pundit does not think that the 24-year-old Portugal international midfielder will stay at Wolves beyond the end of the season.
The London Evening Standard reported this week that Neves is a long-term target of the Gunners.
The Sun claimed in February that Arsenal are keen to sign the Portugal international midfielder in the summer transfer window.
Merson said about Nevex: “I don’t see him being at Wolves next season. Where do you want to go? He could play at Arsenal in their midfield, Manchester United, he could.”
The Sky Sports pundit added: “I think he could go to Arsenal, he could go to Liverpool, if I am being honest.”

Ruben Neves would make Arsenal better
In our view, Neves would make Arsenal a better and stronger team in the middle of the park.
The Portugal international can impose himself in the middle of the park, works hard for his team, and is very dynamic.
And he can also score some great goals.
If Arsenal finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season, then, in our view, they should look at signing players like Neves who is only 24 and will get better in the coming years.
