Borussia Monchengladbach star Denis Zakaria is wanted by Arsenal and Liverpool – and he could find himself available for around £6million come January.

Arsenal and Liverpool chase Zakaria

Zakaria is one of the Bundesliga’s top midfielders and it’s no surprise to hear that he is wanted in the Premier League.

Fussball Transfers reported earlier this month that Arsenal had opened talks with Zakaria’s representatives.

However, Gazzetta Dello Sport claim that Liverpool are leading the race. Zakaria allegedly wants to play for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

Out of contract in the summer, Zakaria represents a potential bargain for any suitor.

Compared to Patrick Vieira, Zakaria is big, imposing and very smart in front of the back four, whilst also having the ability to go forward.

Zakaria available for bargain price

Sport Bild now claim that Gladbach need to sell Zakaria in January rather than see him run down his deal.

Paying Zakaria’s wages for another six months and then seeing him leave for nothing isn’t what Gladbach want.

Instead, they’re prepared to sell Zakaria for a bargain €7million – just £6million.

Borussia Dortmund are also keen, with Zakaria’s former Gladbach boss Marco Rose in charge of BVB.

If Arsenal or Liverpool want a Vieira-like star, Zakaria could now be signed for less than Andrew Robertson or Nuno Tavares – and that has to be appealing.
