Arsenal continue to be linked with RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku – and he is earning huge praise for his displays in Germany.
The Gunners have been touted as a possible destination for Nkunku for a long time now, going back to the Unai Emery days.
Emery was keen to bring Nkunku to Arsenal in 2019, first in January before chasing a summer deal for around £17.2million.
Emery had worked with Nkunku at Paris Saint-Germain and wanted a reunion, but Arsenal didn’t strike a deal for the Frenchman.
Instead, Nkunku headed off to RB Leipzig and has become an absolute star.
Nkunku has now racked up 23 goals and eight assists across all competitions this season, producing outrageous displays for Leipzig.
By striking a late winner against Bochum this weekend, Nkunku continued Leipzig’s fine form under new boss Domenico Tedesco.
After the final whistle, Leipzig teammate Tyler Adams – another player linked with Arsenal on a regular basis – moved to praise Nkunku.
Adams, speaking on the Bundesliga Highlights Show, suggested that Nkunku is ‘obviously something special’ as he continued his staggering campaign.
Adams added that he knew Nkunku was going to score as soon as he got the ball, highlighting just how good the former PSG talent has become.

“Benny’ [Henrichs] played a perfect ball for Christo, and this guy is obviously something special, his stats speak for themselves. As soon as he touched the ball, we thought ‘goal’, so I’m very happy for him,” said Adams.
ESPN claim that Arsenal and Liverpool both fancy signing Nkunku, with Manchester City and Real Madrid also interested.
With every passing goal though, Nkunku is moving out of Arsenal’s range. They certainly wouldn’t get him for anything close to £17million as Emery wanted!
Nkunku could be a dream signing for Arsenal, but the same goes for many clubs around Europe with a major race potentially on the horizon.
