Arsenal found one South American gem last summer by signing Gabriel Martinelli – and they have been linked with another this season.
Back in November, Record reported that Arsenal were in the race to sign Atlanta United talent Ezequiel Barco, alongside Sporting and Manchester United.
No January move materialised, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if Barco was still on the Arsenal radar for the summer window.
The 21-year-old had a huge reputation in Argentina, emerging as a top young talent with Independiente before heading to Atlanta in 2018.
Barco has hit 11 goals and 10 assists in 64 appearances for Atlanta, and it’s no great surprise to see him being linked with a move to Europe.
Now, Barco has admitted to TNT Sports that his ideal move would be to join a Premier League side, because he ‘loves’ English football.

He added that Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has now told him to make the move to the Premier League, which could be music to Arsenal’s ears.
“The league that I like the most is the Premier League, I love it,” said Barco. “I spoke to Kun Aguero recently, I called him for his birthday. He told me that I had to make the jump to Europe, to go to the Premier League,” he added.
Primarily a left-sided winger who can also play off the striker, Barco is tricky and technically-gifted, whilst also having a turn of pace – and if Arsenal have the cash this summer, Barco could be a target.
