Toulouse President Damien Comolli has confirmed, via Calciomercato, that Amine Adli has rejected a transfer to Wolfsburg, amid Premier League interest from Arsenal and Leicester.
Adli is one of the hottest properties on the market this summer after a remarkable Ligue 2 season last term. The striker is also now in the final year of his contract at the Stadium de Toulouse, after rejecting all proposals to extend his stay after six years in Occitanie.
Toulouse sought to offer Adli a new deal after the 21-year-old helped Les Pitchouns fight for promotion last season. Patrice Garande’s side missed out on a place in the top-flight via the play-offs, though. Now, they will hope new boss Philippe Montanier gets the job done.

Adli scored eight times and provided seven assists to secure Toulouse’s play-off spot. He then created the winner away to Nantes in the second-leg of the play-off final. But defeat in the first-leg meant Les Pitchouns failed to do enough to overcome the Ligue 1 strugglers.
Arsenal and Leicester soon emerged as suitors for Adli after he rejected Toulouse’s contract offer, per TuttoMercatoWEB. But AC Milan were leading the race with Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and Marseille for the 2020/21 Ligue 2 Player of the Year at the time.
Now, Comolli has confirmed, via Calciomercato, that Wolfsburg offered Toulouse €12m (£10m) for Adli. But the Frenchman rejected their interest, with Bayern Munich also now sniffing around for his services. Giving Arsenal and Leicester renewed hope of signing Adli.
Comolli gives Arsenal and Leicester hope of signing Adli after Wolfsburg snub
Arsenal and Leicester will be buoyed after Adli rejected Wolfsburg as it gives them another chance to negotiate with Toulouse. Comolli confirming Adli was the one who turned down the deal will further encourage the Premier League rivals, too.
It suggests Comolli would also accept £10m offers from Arsenal or Leicester for Toulouse’s young star Adli. A player who demonstrated immense potential in the French second-tier last season, during his first full campaign in the first-team.
Comolli is open to offers for the former U18 international this summer to avoid him leaving for free next year. He also stated earlier in the window, via TuttoMercatoWEB: “Is there a possibility that he will renew [his contract]? No. I haven’t believed it for a long time.
“We’ve had a dozen discussions and at a certain point, when the player doesn’t want to, he doesn’t want to. For me, he will leave. He doesn’t want to stay.”
