Arsenal and Leicester City are both looking to sign Southampton winger Mohamed Elyounoussi after an impressive start to the season.
That’s according to The Sunday Mirror (17/10, p74), who claim that Elyounoussi is attracting interest.
The Norwegian winger has returned from two-year loan spell at Celtic and is thriving under Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Elyounoussi only has one goal, but has been showing fine approach play in a struggling Saints side.
The £16million signing from Basel looked to be on the chopping block not long ago, but could now land a big move.
Why would Arsenal want Elyounoussi?
This might seem like a strange rumour.
Arsenal have plenty of wingers already. Gabriel Martinelli can’t even get a kick right now.
Adding Elyounoussi would be a curious move, but he does already have a connection with Martin Odegaard.

The duo play for Norway together, and that existing understanding could help Arsenal going forward.
Elyounoussi was even praised for a ‘magical’ showing for Norway during the international break.
At 27 though, Elyounoussi doesn’t really represent a player with resale value down the line. Nor does he really improve Arsenal’s first XI.
Arsenal can’t really afford to be signing players who don’t tick either box.
Elyounoussi is shining this season, but a move to the Emirates Stadium doesn’t really make sense for us as Arsenal attempt to move forward.
