Former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson has been speaking about the form of Gunners youngster Alex Iwobi on Sky Sports’ Fantasy Football Club this week.
The Nigerian has been in spectacular form for the Gunners so far this season. The attacker has made himself one of the first names on the teamsheet in recent weeks with some exceptional performances as part of Arsenal’s attacking trio.
His range of passing, pace and skill makes him a lethal attacker and he is looking every inch a future Arsenal star.
One man who has been impressed is former Arsenal man Merson. The Sky Sports presenter and pundit spent 15 years at the North London club and is a big fan of Iwobi – who he says has an excellent football brain:

“I like this kid, he’s a very good footballer. He was outstanding again against Basel on Wednesday night.
“He’s got a very good football brain. That’s what I like about him.
“He is playing with people whose football brains are at the top of their game, in the likes of Sanchez and Ozil, and he knows what they are doing and he’s only a young kid. Very good player.”
There is no doubt that Iwobi is on a different level to many players at his age and it is his temperament and football intelligence that is setting him apart.
Add that to his natural athleticism and Arsenal have got themselves the perfect blend for an attacker at the club.
Arsenal fans will hope that Iwobi can continue his form.
