Arsenal skipper Laurent Koscielny’s actions have disappointed a number of Gunners fans including club legend Ian Wright.

Arsenal released a club statement on their website condemning Koscielny’s decision to not travel to the United States for their pre-season tour which came as a massive shock for fans and pundits alike.
The skipper still has a year left on his contract at the Emirates but a desire to move away has reportedly played a part in his refusal.
The Guardian revealed that Koscielny demanded the club to allow him to leave for free this summer but Arsenal refused to do so. The Frenchman’s shocking behaviour has forced the club to start disciplinary proceedings against him which isn’t ideal ahead of a new season and Wright joined many fans in expressing their disappointment over Koscielny’s actions.

Wright said on his YouTube channel: “For our captain who’s been there for nine years, we’ve seen him play through pains and build a legacy and legendary status that he deserves, so I’ve to question not only Laurent Koscielny’s loyalty and love for the club to do this in pre-season when you’re the captain.”
Koscielny has been an incredible professional ever since he made the switch to North London from Lorient nine years ago. His sudden change in behaviour has been a shock and it could potentially ruin the legacy he has built for himself at the Emirates.

Wright continued saying: “A time in the season where everybody has to fight together, For our captain to refuse to go on pre-season tour after nine years of unbelievable service. It destroys your legacy a little bit for a club you profess to love. It is baffling. I’m so disappointed in you Laurent. I love you Laurent, but this is a poor decision to make.”
Wright’s final sentence sums up the feelings of almost every Arsenal fan and with things having gotten out of hand, the Europa League final defeat to Chelsea could well have been Koscielny’s final game for the club.
