Gilberto Silva has been breaking down Arsenal’s dominant 4-1 victory over Spurs, and he made sure to single out one Gunners player he really enjoyed watching.
Leandro Trossard, the player in question, now has ten goal contributions this season following his latest goal against Tottenham.
While Eberechi Eze grabbed a hat-trick and most of the headlines from the derby, it was the Belgian who put in one of those quieter performances that played just as big a part in the result.
In that context, the ex-Arsenal midfielder was quick to acknowledge Trossard’s role in another strong showing at the Emirates.
Gilberto Silva on Leandro Trossard’s display against Spurs

Silva, speaking after the game, said that while Eze was clearly Man of the Match, he was really taken by Trossard’s performance.
He could not believe how well the winger played and highlighted his 10th goal contribution of the season as a standout moment.
Darren Bent had called for Arsenal to move him on not too long ago, but the Belgian has become one of the most underrated players in this squad.
Reflecting on what went down during Arsenal’s win, Silva posted on social media: “What a great game from Arsenal today during the North London derby. Great result, keeping first place in the table and a great hat-trick from Eze.
“What a brilliant game from him, Man of the Match no doubt. But apart from him, I really liked Leandro Trossard’s performance. He played very good football today and made his contribution again.”
Trossard received a pay rise over the summer, which many fans did not see coming. The feeling ahead of the last window was that Arsenal were ready to part ways with him, but nothing ever materialised.
The Belgian ended up staying put and has more than justified that decision.
Mikel Arteta says Leandro Trossard’s sale at Arsenal was forbidden

Mikel Arteta has revealed that a summer move for Trossard was never on the table, making it clear that he did not want to lose the winger.
“For me, it was forbidden for him to leave, no chance. I know the player that he is, and surrounded with the players that we have, he’s a player that is going to make a difference for us,” said the Spaniard after the North London Derby.
“It was one of the best games [he’s had at Arsenal] so aggressive with and without the ball, so effective. He could have scored another one or two goals and he was involved in so many positive actions, so that’s what we need.”
Trossard is undeniably the Gunners’ most underrated player and could be pivotal in their bid for the Premier League title.
