Leandro Trossard has marvelled at the ‘amazing atmosphere’ Arsenal fans created during his debut against Manchester United.
The Gunners hosted United at the Emirates Stadium in what felt like a throwback to the early 2000’s.
Arsenal v Manchester United was the big game back then and their latest meeting had that feeling again.
Marcus Rashford danced past Thomas Partey to smash United in front before Eddie Nketiah levelled it up for Arsenal.
Bukayo Saka scored with a stunning strike past David De Gea only for Lisandro Martinez to loop a header into the net.
United battled for a point but didn’t get it, with Nketiah scoring a close-range finish to send the Emirates Stadium absolutely bonkers.
Leandro Trossard celebrates debut win for Arsenal
This win again proved Arsenal’s title credentials and also showcased Arsenal’s new signing Leandro Trossard.
The Belgian joined Arsenal on Friday as Edu struck a deal to give Mikel Arteta another attacking threat.
Arsenal missed out on Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea but quickly pivoted to Trossard as their alternative target.
The 28-year-old signed in time to be included in the squad to face United but was understandably left on the bench.
Trossard did get on for a debut though, coming on to replace Gabriel Martinelli with eight minutes of normal time to play as Arsenal chased a winner.
Trossard was involved in Nketiah’s winner and showed some nice footwork late in the game to keep the ball away from United.
Arsenal’s new man will be looking for more action soon, and even more so after Sunday’s superb win.
Trossard took to Twitter to celebrate his debut and the win, noting that Arsenal fans created an ‘amazing atmosphere’.
The hope for everyone at Arsenal is that there will be more of these nights to come, with Trossard playing a key role.
