Arsenal were snubbed by Leandro Paredes over the summer but the Argentina ace is already facing being axed by Juventus.
The Gunners were in the market for a new midfielder before the summer transfer deadline.
Injuries to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny were a major problem and Edu went in for a couple of targets.
One was Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz but Arsenal couldn’t strike a deal, and another was Leandro Paredes.

Paris Saint-Germain had decided to let Paredes leave the club on loan having brought in a number of midfielders over the summer.
Arsenal seemingly had a look at the Argentinian as a solution to their holding midfield problems.
Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reported late in August that Arsenal had offered Paredes the chance to move to North London.
However, Paredes rejected Arsenal because he had an agreement to join Juventus and didn’t want to go back on that deal.
Juventus did finally sign Paredes on loan for the season with an option to buy and Arsenal left the summer window without that midfield addition.
Paredes, 28, hasn’t exactly been enjoying his time in Turin though.
Paredes has started just three Serie A games this season with an additional six substitute appearances to his name.
Gazzetta dello Sport now claim that Juventus are looking likely to send Paredes back to PSG in 2023, whether that’s in January or in the summer.
It’s suggested that Juventus getting out of their Champions League club would have triggered a permanent deal for Paredes, but Juve crashed out.
Now with youngsters Nicolo Fagioli and Fabio Miretti emerging, Juventus are starting to think that they just don’t need to sign Paredes after all.
It remains to be seen whether the avenue to Arsenal is still open for Paredes but he may well have some regrets at rejecting the Gunners.
