The wheels are now reportedly in motion for Robin Van Persie’s expected departure from the club with Manchester United ready to meet the Gunners valuation for the Dutchman and therefore being able to field a dream partnership of RVP and Wayne Rooney next season. The Independent report that Manchester United are determined to claim back their Premier League title from their city rivals and see beating them to the signature of last year’s Premier League outstanding performer as pivotal. The deal appears a long way off right now although some feel the deal could be done before the end of the week bringing to an end one of the biggest transfer saga’s of the summer. The Manchester Evening News reported that Van Persie may even jet into Manchester tonight, but presently there has been no sign of him.
Arsenal are the latest London club to be linked with a potential swoop for Celtic’s South Korea starlet Ki Seung-Yeung. Despite an apparent admiration for La Liga a move to the Premier League would be hard to turn down for the impressive central midfield player, who has played a blinding Olympic Games for South Korea. The Daily Mail reports Arsenal want to bring him in for a fee of around £9 million as uncertainty increases over Alex Song’s Arsenal future. They will have to fend off serious competition but it is believed Arsene Wenger’s trusted chief scout Steve Rowley recommends the man once dubbed ‘The Korean Gerrard’ extremely highly and insists he would be a great addition.

Following on from yesterday’s reports that the Gunners are chasing Argentine Matias Suarez yet another Anderlecht star has been linked with a move to the Emirates. According to The Sun, midfield man Cheikhou Kouyate is being tracked by Arsenal and Premier League rivals Manchester City after impressing at the Olympic games for Senegal off the back of a good season in the Belgian league. With a deal to bring Nuri Sahin potentially in the water, Kouyate would be a great signing if Alex Song was to force a move to Barcelona.
