Arsene Wenger is lining up a sensational swoop for Sevilla midfielder Jesus Navas, report ITV Sport. The 26 year old winger has impressed recently for club and country, even scoring a crucial goal against Croatia in the Group Stages of Euro 2012. He would follow Santi Cazorla and join Mikel Arteta and Ignasi Miquel as Spaniards playing at The Emirates, however one stumbling block would be Jesus’s previous history of homesickness and anxiety attacks but Arsenal fans will hope he has outgrown such issues.

More now on the protracted transfer of Nuri Sahin and the Daily Mail say it is done. The Turkish international arrives on a one year loan spell with an option to buy for £14 million if it is successful. He will take up the position of Alex Song in the team and is expected to be a first team regular in Arsenal’s midfield. However Jose Mourinho said this afternoon that there is so far no agreement, with the midfielder still weighing up his options.

A large portion of the recent influx of money at Arsenal could be spent on Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote, according to The Metro. As a deal for Yann M’Vila of Rennes appears to be dying out Tiote would act as an immediate replacement for Alex Song in the Arsenal midfield. Alan Pardew insists he does not wish to sell the central midfield general who famously scored a superb last minute equaliser against The Gunner’s when the Magpies came back from 4 goals down to draw 4-4 in February 2011. However Newcastle will drive a hard bargain and attempt to resist any move.

The BBC has news of Arsenal left back Andre Santos’s arrest for dangerous driving last Friday. Santos, who was on the bench the next day against Sunderland, was pulled over near Arsenal’s Hertfordshire training ground on Friday morning. Santos has been bailed pending a charge of ‘dangerous driving’ and ‘failing to stop for police’. Santos was not breathalysed during the incident.

Paul Pogba has told L’Equipe that Arsenal missed out on his signature this summer. The midfielder, who has been compared to former Gunner’s captain Patrick Vieira left Manchester United this summer to sign for Italian champions Juventus. However he turned down potential overtures from Arsenal and fellow Londoners Chelsea due to his own admitted ‘impatience’; instead signing for Juventus who had tabled a concrete offer.

Meanwhile Conor Henderson wants to go out on loan this season to gain first team experience. One of Arsenal’s brightest talents, he was struck by an unfortunate knee injury keeping him out for the majority of last season. He bagged a brace in his opening game of the season however and feels a loan move would be beneficial for both parties.

And finally, Here Is The City takes a look at five reasons for Arsenal fans to be positive this season.
