The Daily Mail have highlighted Kevin Mirallas as a potential transfer target for The Gunners from Greek club Olympiakos. The Belgian forward, despite a disappointing display at Wembley in a recent international friendly, had an extraordinary season in Greece winning the player of the year and top goal scorer awards. Capable of playing on the wing, off the striker or as a front man the former St Etienne forward is available at £6.4million due to a clause in his current contract and Arsenal may be about to beat CSKA Moscow to his signing.

BBC Sport bring more news on the ensuing Robin Van Persie saga and following on from his decision to go with Arsenal to their German training camp it seems Manchester City have given up the ghost on a potential deal to bring the Dutch marksman to Eastlands. Mancini has confirmed he has no hope of bringing in RVP but he may still be on the move to Manchester United or Juventus, whose history and prestige appeal to him more than the money on offer at City.

Yahoo sport report on Arsenal’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis selection for two high profile roles at the FA. He has been appointed to the Profesional Game Board and the FA council. Combined with his role within FIFA’S dispute resolution chamber it gives Arsenal a key ally in major footballing debates.

There is mixed news for Arsenal and their interest in Arsenal in Barcelona’s Dutch talent Ibrahim Afellay aafter comments from his his agent. He has struggled to get in to the Nou Camp side whilst also battling injury but his agent claims it is very unlikely the winger will leave the Blaugrana this summer. He didn’t completely rule out a move however by claiming cryptically ‘you never know in football’ reports Goal.com, while it has been widely reported today a loan deal could be a mutually convenient solution.

Over the weekend Arsenal sent out an 11 comprising mostly of youngsters who conquered Chesham United in a 6-2 victory at The Meadow. Arsenals goals came courtesy of a brace from Philip Roberts and individual strikes from Nigel Neita, Jack Jebb, Chuba Akpom and Austin Lipman. It was a dominant performance from Arsenals youngest line-up to date in preseason and the form of the young Gunners would have impressed the hierarchy.

And Santi Cazorla has reportedly paid his farewells to his Malaga teammates as his move to Arsenal appears simply a matter of time. Former West Brom midfielder Enzo Maresca has reportedly said goodbye whilst former Gunner Julio Baptista has tweeted his goodbyes to Santi and team-mate Salomon Rondon, who has signed for Rubin Kazan.

Meanwhile, wantaway Russian Andrei Arshavin has denied reports he is to sign with QPR. He confirmed he is back in pre-season with Arsenal, and while not ruling out a move, he simply stated that the suggested reports were wide of the mark.
