All the news and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates.
Arsenal drew 0-0 with Everton last night and there has been plenty of reaction to the game. Arsene Wenger believes that The Toffees went too far with their strong-arm tactics at The Emirates last night. Several Everton players put in strong challenges on their Arsenal opponents throughout the game and Wenger could not believe referee Neil Swarbrick did not show Darron Gibson a red card in the first half for a challenge on Theo Walcott.
Moyes however maintained that they were within their right to stop Arsenal from playing and suggested that it is something more common up north and that you are allowed to do so in football.
The frustration of the first half boiled over at half-time when Jack Wilshere came to blows with Belgian opponent Kevin Mirallas. Wilshere was the subject of several strong tackles in the first half from Ross Barkley, Maraoune Fellaini and Mirallas his self. When he approached the winger at half-time it appeared that Mirallas squirted Lucozade in his face which started the tunnel fracas.
Away from the game last night and it appears Arsenal are going to bid £10 million for Sunderland keeper Simon Mignolet in the summer and immediately install him as the club’s number one keeper. The Belgian was recently voted Sunderland’s player of the season after an outstanding campaign at The Stadium of Light and is seen as the perfect replacement for Wojciech Szczesny.
The Daily Mail has footage of Russian playmaker Andrey Arshavin getting in an argument with nightclub bouncers at a London venue this month. The £15 million man leaves the club this summer after his contract has been allowed to expire.
Former Liverpool defender Rigobert Song has exclaimed that his nephew and former Arsenal star Alex Song is not happy at Barcelona. The Cameroonian international has struggled for games this season after a summer move from The Emirates where he was a first-team regular.
And on the site today we have looked at how former Arsenal reject Jeremie Aliadiere has outshone one of Europe’s most wanted strikers in a French Cup tie. The Lorient striker scored a last-minute winner against St Etienne to steal the headlines from Pierre Emerick Aubameyang last night.
