Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has been offered to AC Milan ahead of the January transfer window, but his wages could be a major problem.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who claim that Lacazette has been put forward to Milan as they seek another striker.

Milan want another option to support Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with Lacazette seen as an option.

Andrea Belotti is another player Milan like, and he could be cheaper than Lacazette wages-wise.

Lacazette surely playing his final season at Arsenal

Lacazette’s €9million-a-year salary – around £150,000-a-week – is way more than Milan can pay right now.

Even if Milan don’t sign Lacazette in January, his time with Arsenal is surely coming towards its end.

Lacazette is inside the final year of his Arsenal contract and currently looks unlikely to secure a new contract any time soon.

The Frenchman isn’t in Mikel Arteta’s best team right now, and renewing the 30-year-old’s contract shouldn’t be a priority – even if Arteta called him ‘phenomenal’ just last week.

Kessie swap deal?

The rumours of Milan wanting Lacazette comes just as Arsenal are being linked with a raid for AC midfielder Franck Kessie.

90Min claim that Arsenal would like to sign midfielder Kessie, who is also out of contract at the end of the season.

Milan going for Lacazette could open the door to a swap deal between the two clubs, which Arsenal would surely love.
