Arsenal are interested in signing RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko and will challenge Chelsea for his signature in 2024.

RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko is wanted by both Arsenal and Chelsea, providing ‘stiff competition’ for AC Milan.

That is according to a report from Calciomercato, who claim that Arsenal have ‘set their sights’ on signing Sesko.

The Gunners have seen Gabriel Jesus go down with another injury, leaving Eddie Nketiah to lead the line.

Nketiah scored a hat-trick at the weekend but whether that is enough to end rumours about another striker signing remains to be seen.

Arsenal keen on Benjamin Sesko

Brentford star Ivan Toney has been heavily linked but Arsenal could look a little further afield with a move for Sesko.

Italian site Calciomercato have been covering AC Milan’s interest in Sesko and highlighted Arsenal and Chelsea wanting him too.

it’s claimed that both clubs have had ‘direct relations’ with Red Bull and have now set their sights on signing Sesko.

Leipzig paid just £20million to sign Sesko and would now allegedly want around €50million (£43.5million) to sell the Slovenian.

Arsenal and Chelsea rank in the top five for crosses in the Premier League this season, so maybe landing a 6ft 4in forward like Sesko will seriously appeal.

Who is Arsenal target Sesko?

Formerly of Domzale in Slovenia, Sesko joined Red Bull Salzburg at 16 and smashed 22 goals in 44 games for sister club FC Liefering.

The goals continued to flow when Sesko started featuring for Salzburg, hitting 29 goals in 79 outings.

RB Leipzig were more than happy to pounce for Sesko, and he has already scored six times in 13 games for the German side.

Still only 20, Sesko has even bagged nine goals in 24 caps for Slovenia; simply put, he is a goalscorer.

Hailed as ‘special’ and ‘extremely quick’ by former Leipzig director Christopher Vivell, Sesko seems destined for stardom – and that could come in the Premier League if Arsenal or Chelsea splash the cash.
