Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has celebrated beating Arsenal and claims it’s ‘especially’ nice to win at the Emirates Stadium.

Juve travelled to London on Saturday evening as they faced Arsenal in a friendly.

The two sides are gearing up for the return of domestic football with the World Cup on the verge of ending.

There were no points on offer here but this handed Allegri and Mikel Arteta a great chance to prepare for more serious action.

Arsenal won’t be pleased with a 2-0 defeat and the manner of their loss was a little bizarre.

Two own goals handed Juventus the win with Granit Xhaka heading into his own net for the opener.

Rob Holding then diverted Samuel Iling-Junior’s cross into his own net, securing a 2-0 win for Juve.

This wasn’t Arsenal at full strength given the number of players still unavailable, but it’s not exactly ideal preparation for the Premier League’s return.

Allegri celebrates Juventus beating Arsenal

Juventus will be delighted though, especially with so much off-field chaos in recent weeks.

Boss Allegri has been under pressure throughout the season, and whilst the scrutiny won’t be vanishing in light of a friendly win, it’s a nice boost all the same.

Allegri spoke to the Juventus official website after the final whistle in North London, and he was clearly delighted.

Allegri was not only happy with the victory, but was also happy to claim the win at the Emirates Stadium, seemingly especially happy with that aspect.

“It was a difficult one against a technical team, who are first in the Premier League. It wasn’t a great start, but good in defence and winning is always nice, especially in this stadium,” said Allegri.

The Emirates may have opened back in 2006 but it still looks great today and is clearly respected by top managers like Allegri.

Maybe Allegri was just happy to beat Arsenal on their own patch, but it’s still a stadium that will dazzle many.

Allegri has only faced Arsenal twice in competitive games, hammering them 4-0 as AC Milan boss in Italy back in 2012 before a 3-0 defeat at the Emirates.

The Italian will be pleased to finally have an Emirates win to his name, even if it only came in a friendly.
