Arsenal admire Jude Bellingham but seemingly think they don’t quite have the money to go and sign the Borussia Dortmund star.

That’s according to The Athletic, who suggest that Arsenal are big fans of Bellingham.

However, it’s suggested that Arsenal just don’t have the finances to pull off a deal.

Chelsea are in a similar boat but for different reasons; their huge January deal for Enzo Fernandez allegedly makes the Blues an unlikely destination for Bellingham.

Paris Saint-Germain have the cash for Bellingham but he is unlikely to fancy a move to Ligue 1.

That pretty much leaves four possible destinations; Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid.

The report does though add that Bellingham would be willing to stay at Dortmund for another year if the right move isn’t available to him.

Arsenal once had Jude Bellingham deal ‘kind of done’

Bellingham could have been outstanding in Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side.

Playing in that wide, advanced midfield role under Arteta would have surely seen Bellingham make a huge impact in attack.

Dortmund’s asking price is around £132million though, so it’s understandable that Arsenal just don’t have the financial clout to get involved.

Maybe that kind of spending can happen one day, but the situation with Bellingham feels like a ‘what could have been’ scenario.

Arsenal legend Tony Adams told Sky Sports in 2020 that the Gunners had a deal to sign Bellingham from Birmingham City ‘kind of done’.

Adams claims that the deal got lost in the transition as Edu came in from Brazil back in 2019.

That was a year before Bellingham made his move to Dortmund and just before he broke into the Birmingham City first team.

The deal was never finalised and Bellingham ended up in Germany instead, now worth a staggering fee.

There are many of those stories for Arsenal and with Bellingham now too expensive, it looks like he is another player the Gunners missed out on.
