Charles Watts has revealed that Kieran Tierney is a ‘keen admirer’ of reported Arsenal target and former Celtic team-mate Odsonne Edouard.

The Gunners might well be in the market for a new striker this summer by virtue of how much Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette have struggled this season.

And The Daily Star reported in January that Arsenal were interested in a summer move for Celtic hitman Edouard.

Tierney and the French marksman spent two years playing alongside each other at Parkhead, prior to the left-back’s move to North London in a £25 million deal in 2019.

And Watts, who covers the Emirates Stadium side for Goal.com, claims that the Scottish left-back is a massive fan of his old colleague and that he’d be keeping his ear to the ground over this one.

He said on his YouTube channel: “He’s certainly a player Arsenal have a keen eye on. They’ve been watching him for a long, long time. They’ve got a good relationship with Celtic, obviously fresh from their deal with Kieran Tierney not too long ago. Kieran Tierney is a very keen admirer of Edouard as well and probably got his ear.”

This has been an awful season for the Hoops and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Edouard and a number of high-profile players wind up leaving Glasgow during the summer.

The 23-year-old, who joined permanently Celtic from Paris Saint-Germain in 2018, has netted 61 Premiership goals in three-and-a-half years in Scotland and it’d be fascinating to see how he’d fare with Arsenal in England’s top flight.
