Arsenal are set to sign Jorginho and the news has left Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella absolutely dumbfounded.

Goal have published a video in which left back Cucurella is asked to name Chelsea’s smartest player.

Cucurella is then told that Jorginho isn’t actually a Chelsea player anymore – and the Spaniard is left stunned.

Cucurella noted that he read the rumours on Monday but that’s all he knew.

When told that Jorginho has been spotted in an Arsenal shirt ahead of his presentation, Cucurella just can’t believe what he’s hearing.

It’s clear that Cucurella had no real knowledge that Jorginho’s move was this close and being told out of the blue left him surprised.

Cucurella will have to change his answer on who Chelsea’s smartest player is, but Arsenal will be delighted to taking some brains away from the Blues.

Arsenal surely set to announce Jorginho deal

This rumour has been bubbling away for the last 24 hours or so after Arsenal moved in for Jorginho on Monday night.

Arsenal have been chasing a new midfielder and seemingly accepted that a move for Brighton and Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo just wasn’t going to happen.

The Gunners pivoted to Jorginho, a player Mikel Arteta has been a fan of for many years now.

Chelsea were happy for Jorginho to go – even to a London rival – with his contract set to end this summer.

Jorginho has been at London Colney today and a deal should be completed without any hitches ahead of tonight’s deadline.

Arsenal are paying around £12million to bring Jorginho to North London and he adds valuable experience in the Gunners engine room.

A winner of the Champions League, Europa League and European Championship, Jorginho knows what it takes to win silverware.

Arsenal will hope to see that influence pay off in the coming months as Arteta chases the Premier League title.
