Gary Lineker has poked fun at Arsenal on Twitter following the Gunners announcing a job vacancy at the club.

What’s the story?

Arsenal are looking for a new social media editor.

The Premier League club have announced on their official website that the role ‘involves planning and publishing content across the Club’s social media platforms and aligning with and driving as appropriate to Arsenal’s owned and operated platforms’.

You can check the job description in full by clicking here.

Gary Lineker’s pop

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker and the BBC’s Match of the Day presenter Lineker has poked fun at the advert, as you can see below.

Lineker has joked that if the prospective new social media editor at Arsenal can play, then it would be helpful.

The Gunners have lost their opening two Premier League games this season.

Staying positive

Arsenal are not doing well on the pitch, but it is still very early in the season.

The Gunners could have done better against Brentford, but Mikel Arteta’s side had coronavirus problems.

Winning or even drawing against Chelsea this past weekend was going to be tough and was unlikely.

Arsenal will next face Manchester City in the Premier League, and that is going to be another tough game for the Gunners.

However, Arsenal fans should stay positive.

Yes, it has been a disappointing start to the season, but there have been injury problems and the opponents have been tough.
