Arsenal want Joao Felix but agent Jorge Mendes is heading to England this week to try and negotiate with Newcastle United and Aston Villa.
Give Me Sport report that Arsenal’s board like Felix whilst Relevo claim that the Gunners have already spoken to Mendes.
The Sunday Mirror (11/12, p68) now report that super agent Mendes is travelling to England in a matter of days.
Atletico Madrid ideally wouldn’t let Felix leave in January but believe the situation between him and Diego Simeone is just ‘untenable’ now.
It’s suggested that Mendes has already spoken to Chelsea and Manchester United about potentially moving to sign Felix.
Mendes is now expected to initiate contacts with both Newcastle and Aston Villa to gauge their interest in the Portuguese talent.
A move to the Premier League is believed to appeal to Felix and Mendes, but finding the right club will be the key here.

Arsenal should be in the Joao Felix race
It feels unlikely that Newcastle will splash the cash on Felix having spent big on another La Liga attacker in Alexander Isak.
A move to Villa seems a little unlikely too and there feels like a window of opportunity here for Arsenal.
Gabriel Jesus is out injured now and may be facing months on the sidelines.
Eddie Nketiah may be trusted but Felix can offer another option, especially given his ability to drop deep and create from the striking role.
If Arsenal can land the 23-year-old in a Martin Odegaard-style deal, it must be something that Edu and Mikel Arteta pursue.
Odegaard moved to Madrid as a wonderkid, couldn’t quite the first-team action he wanted and then joined Arsenal on loan before ap permanent deal.
You can certainly see the parallels to Felix and maybe that’s the kind of deal Arsenal should offer – a loan with the chance of a permanent summer deal.
Mendes being in England should be of interest to Arsenal and if Newcastle and Villa are considered to be realistic possibilities, the Gunners will surely be right in the mix.
