Arsenal want Jesus Ferreira but the United States striker has been criticised after a fairly anonymous display against the Netherlands.
The Gunners may need to accelerate their plans to sign a new striker in January.
Edu may have just had some names on a list in case of emergency and Gabriel Jesus picking up a knee injury at the World Cup is a major problem.
Eddie Nketiah may be trusted to see Arsenal through until Jesus returns but the Gunners may have another Jesus on their radar.

Arsenal want Jesus Ferreira
Give Me Sport reported last month that Arsenal have been watching FC Dallas striker Jesus Ferreira ahead of a possible move.
Ferreira, 21, hit 18 goals in 33 Major League Soccer games last season and appears to be a real talent.
Arsenal are clearly placing a keen focus on the MLS market and Ferreira has popped onto their radar.
The Colombia-born hitman has compared himself to Arsenal hitman Gabriel Jesus so you can see why Edu may be keen.
Well, Arsenal had a great chance to watch Ferreira in action against the Netherlands on Saturday as he was given a surprise start.
Ferreira hadn’t played a single minute of group stage action but Gregg Berhalter threw him in from the start against the Netherlands.
However, Ferreira couldn’t make an impact and was substituted at half time with USA 2-0.
The American media haven’t been too complimentary with CBS Sports rating him at just 4 out of 10.
They suggested that Ferreira ‘offered nothing’ and his performance in attack was ‘forgetful’.
Goal named Ferreira as one of the ‘losers’ from Saturday’s game, claiming that his pressing was ‘somewhat useless’ against the Netherlands defence.
That’s maybe a touch harsh – Ferreira has shown himself to be a good presser in Major League Soccer and started well in that sense against the Netherlands.
Yet it quickly became a tough ask – should he go in on the Netherlands back three or protect against passes into Frenkie de Jong and Marten de Roon?
This was a difficult ask for Ferreira and he will hope that Arsenal aren’t too deterred after a difficult afternoon.
