Arsenal want Jesus Ferreira and the praise for him in the United States will leave fans being reminded of Gabriel Jesus.

The Gunners are really looking towards the MLS market at the moment.

Defender Austin Trusty signed from Colorado Rapids in January before New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner joined over the summer.

Orland City winger Facundo Torres has been targeted of late and it looks like Arsenal have another MLS transfer target in mind.

Arsenal want Jesus Ferreira

Give Me Sport reported on Sunday that Arsenal have been watching FC Dallas striker Jesus Ferreira ahead of a possible move.

Ferreira, 21, was born in Colombia but moved to Dallas at the age of just 10.

Ferreira has come up in the FC Dallas ranks and his goalscoring record looks very good.

Seven goals in just 15 USA caps is hugely impressive and he smashed 18 goals in 33 MLS games this past season.

There appears to be very high hopes for Ferreira and Arsenal are having a close look ahead of a potential bid.

A diminutive attacker at 5ft 9in tall, Ferreira is impressive on the ball and loves to drop deep to pick up possession and drive at defenders or create for his teammates.

Add in the goals and it’s hard not to be impressed with Ferreira.

What’s quite incredible is that, when asked who he would compare himself to, Ferreira told Alexi Lalas’ State of the Union podcast that he would liken himself to… Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus.

“I think he’s a similar type style that comes down and creates for teammates and can assist and can score in the box,” said Ferreira.

Jesus has been a perfect fit for Mikel Arteta’s style of play and the Gunners may well see Ferreira as being the next Jesus.

It’s all well and good being impressive on the ball but a key factor with Jesus is his work rate when the opposition have the ball.

That’s another box Ferreira can tick though as United States boss Gregg Berhalter has called his defensive work rate ‘excellent’.

The size, the playing style, the work rate out of possession… Ferreira certainly has shades of Jesus in his game.

Arsenal surely see that too and after comparing himself to the Gunners star, they could end up playing together in North London.
