Arsenal are set to sign Jakub Kiwior and the defender has been spotted at this evening’s game against Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal fans weren’t expecting this signing just a few days ago.

The Gunners were focused on signing Leandro Trossard and pushed through a deal for the Brighton and Hove Albion ace on Friday.

Supporters weren’t expecting to see Arsenal go and sign a defender as well, but Edu has been working quietly to get Kiwior snapped up.

Fabrizio Romano claims that Arsenal have agreed a deal worth around €25million (£22million) with Kiwior set to join from Spezia.

A naturally left-sided centre back, Kiwior will arrive as competition for Gabriel Magalhaes having shown real potential in Italy.

New signing Trossard is on the bench today as Arsenal take on Manchester United in the Premier League.

Some were wondering whether Kiwior would be in the stands having allegedly gone through his medical in London today.

Well, Goal’s Arsenal correspondent Charles Watts has taken to Twitter to show that Kiwior is at the Emirates Stadium today.

Watts showed that cameras focused in on Kiwior taking his seat with Edu giving him a pat on the back.

Kiwior was left out of Spezia’s game against Roma today in order to go and complete his move to Arsenal.

We would expect an announcement to come on Monday rather than tonight, with some formalities no doubt still needing to be ticked off.

Kiwior, 22, spent time in the Anderlecht ranks with Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga so will surely love to have a familiar face in the Gunners squad.

Kiwior has been playing regularly for Spezia this season so should be fairly ready to go fitness-wise for Arsenal.

Just when his debut will come is unclear; he would be available to face Manchester City on Friday but that is a real baptism of fire.
