Arsenal are interested in Jaidon Anthony almost seven years since they allowed him to leave the club as a youngster.

The Daily Mail reported earlier this month that whilst Arsenal were signing Leandro Trossard, they were looking at more attacking additions.

One of the players Arsenal fancy is Bournemouth winger Jaidon Anthony.

It was claimed that talks over a new deal for Anthony at Bournemouth weren’t progressing, and his contact expires this summer.

Arsenal allegedly view Anthony as a potentially shrewd signing for the future with a bargain summer deal now under consideration.

Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Trossard are all on board but with Reiss Nelson potentially on his way out this summer, Arsenal may need another wide man.

Anthony – hailed as ‘incredible’ by former Bournemouth boss Scott Parker – could fit the bill for Arsenal, especially given his low cost.

Jaidon Anthony has already had ‘tough’ Arsenal exit

A move to the Emirates would be pretty emotional for Anthony.

The 23-year-old started his career with Arsenal way back in 2006, joining the Gunners ranks at the age of just six.

Anthony spent 10 years with Arsenal and was hoping to become a first-team star.

Sadly, Arsenal also had the likes of Emile Smith Rowe and the aforementioned Nelson coming through, so Anthony was let go at 16.

Bournemouth took a chance on Anthony and the winger is now repaying that faith, bagging three goals in 15 Premier League games.

Nearly seven years since leaving Arsenal, Anthony could have the chance to become a senior ace with the Gunners after all.

Speaking to The Beautiful Game podcast earlier this season, Anthony noted that it certainly wasn’t his choice to leave Arsenal.

Anthony suggested that Arsenal just had ‘special talent’ coming through in his age group and they decided it was best for him to move on.

Anthony called that decision ‘tough’ as he wasn’t sure what would happen for him next, throwing his football dreams into doubt.

The winger built himself back up and is now not only a Premier League player, but is back on Arsenal’s radar.

That’s quite the journey for Anthony and if Arsenal make a move either in the next 24 hours or at the end of the season, he would surely jump at the chance.
