Jack Wilshere has taken to Twitter to reveal what happened to him following his infamous dig at Tottenham, after Arsenal’s 2015 FA Cup win.
The England international grabbed the microphone during the Gunners’ trophy parade to bellow the well-known ‘what do we think of Tottenham’ chant.
Wilshere also began signing the ‘it’s happened again’ chant, which is another anti-Spurs song among Arsenal’s repertoire.
Nearly six years on from that incident, the Bournemouth midfielder has revealed the consequences of his actions.
After being asked what happened during a Q&A session on Twitter, Wilshere tweeted the following.
That is a pretty hefty fine for singing a chant.

Of course, Wilshere is a professional, and those above him will say he shouldn’t have added fuels to the flames of the rivalry.
However, supporters would presumably say that fining players for these things, which create a connection between the fanbase and squad, is wrong.
It discourages players to connect with fans, as they may be scared of stepping out of line.

This therefore creates robotic figures who often reiterate the same old cliched comments during interviews.
In a way, it was good to see Wilshere break that barrier down.
It clearly resonated with the Emirates faithful, as they’re still asking him about it nearly six years on.
