Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has admitted that he thinks Jack Wilshere will return to the club permanently one day – as a coach.
Arteta has told The Guardian that he ‘100%’ believes that Wilshere will return to Arsenal in a long-term coaching capacity.
Arteta predicts that Wilshere’s return ‘will happen eventually’, believing Arsenal will keep the doors open for him to return.
“One hundred per cent,” said Arteta. “Everybody at the club will be willing to open the doors to him to try and find a role for him that can work for everybody. I think that will happen naturally.”
Wilshere joined up with Arsenal in September, taking part in training under Arteta to keep himself fit.
Released by Bournemouth last summer, Wilshere needed to stay fit and find a new club.
Arsenal weren’t interested in re-signing Wilshere some three years on from releasing him, but the midfielder has now secured his next move.
Wilshere has joined Danish side AGF on a deal until the end of the season, no doubt hoping to earn an extension.
Wilshere was also doing some coaching badges at Arsenal, and it looks like a coaching career is in Wilshere’s future.

Wilshere can have positive impact at Arsenal
The old adage of a coach ‘knowing the club’ is often overplayed; in many cases, the staff, training grounds and even stadiums aren’t even the same anymore.
In Wilshere’s case though, he has been around Arsenal this season and knows all about the young talent coming through the club.
Wilshere has been on that path himself and knows what it takes to emerge from Arsenal youth prodigy to first-team ace.
Arsenal youngsters will want to be exactly like Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe in the future, and Wilshere could help get them there.
With Per Mertesacker also at the club and Sanchez Watt recently returning to Arsenal in a coaching capacity, it looks like the Gunners are turning to their bold boys to mould their youngsters – and Wilshere could be the next.
