Jack Wilshere has departed Arsenal training after signing for Danish side AGF – and Albert Sambi Lokonga is wishing him well.

Wilshere was released by Bournemouth at the end of last season and found himself in a tricky situation.

With a torrid injury record, few clubs were prepared to give Wilshere a deal. Seen as a gamble, the 30-year-old started the season without a club.

Arsenal then stepped in to allow Wilshere to return to the club for training, keeping himself fit and ready for a new club.

Wilshere first joined Arsenal back in 2001 and stayed all the way through until 2018 when the Gunners allowed his contract to expire.

Injuries ravaged Wilshere’s career, as he went from next big thing to spending most of his time on the sidelines.

Some Arsenal fans hoped that Arsenal would re-sign Wilshere just to give Mikel Arteta more depth in midfield and allow Wilshere to make an emotional return.

Arteta never really seemed open to that, with Wilshere just training and doing some coaching badges at Arsenal.

On Sunday, Wilshere finally landed himself a new club having agreed to join Danish side AGF until the end of the season.

Wilshere will hope to get back on track with this move to Denmark and has now trained for the first time with his new teammates.

Wilshere took to Instagram earlier today to show photos of him in training, admitting he has enjoyed a good session.

Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga responded, stating ‘all the best, you deserve it maestro’ as he sent his well wishes to Wilshere.

That sentiment is likely echoed throughout the Emirates Stadium, with Wilshere certainly a popular figure.
