As per a report by the Evening Standard, Friday has been set as the deadline for Arsenal to decide whether they aim to sign Ivan Fresneda.

Friday deadline set for Arsenal to sign Fresneda

Recently, the Athletic had reported that both Mikel Arteta’s side and Borussia Dortmund had agreed terms to sign the Real Valladolid right-back for £13.1 million.

Now, it seems as if the Spanish club have told Arsenal that Friday is the deadline by which they must seal the deal to sign Ivan Fresneda.

After it has been reported heavily that Cedric Soares is set to join Fulham in January, the club only have one traditional right-back at their disposal in Takehiro Tomiyasu.

However, with Ben White having a strong case for being the most in-form right-back in the league, it makes sense why the report has claimed that Arsenal are set to let Ivan Fresneda stay on loan at Valladolid, if they satisfy the deadline in place.

Otherwise, it is likely that the Spaniard says yes to a transfer to Borussia Dortmund, a club which is renowned for transforming starlets with raw potential into world-class players.

Arsenal must ensure they win race to sign the defensive sensation

Described by Emmanuel Petit as ‘powerful (as relayed by the Mirror) who clearly rates the 18-year-old, he is one of the most talented young right-backs in world football.

And much like Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fresneda is well capable of fulfilling his duties as an inverted right-back.

Looking at the Valladolid gem’s age and potential, a switch to the Emirates Stadium seems like a no-brainer for both parties.

Now, Arsenal must ensure that they meet Friday’s deadline and sign Ivan Fresneda, who could potentially become their starting right-back for the next decade.

Considering the Gunners are extremely astute in the transfer market, one expects this move to go through.
