Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have made a late inquiry about signing former Manchester City midfielder Seko Fofana from Lens in the final days of the summer transfer window, according to MediaFoot.

French news outlet MediaFoot are reporting this afternoon that Arsenal have inquired about signing Fofana.
Ligue 1 outfit Lens do not want to sell the Ivory Coast international midfielder as there is not much time for them to find a suitable replacement, but they could be tempted to cash in on the 27-year-old for an offer of over €30 million (£25.80 million), according to the report.

In our opinion, Lens midfielder Seko Fofana would be a good signing for Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Fofana is at the top of his game at the moment and would give Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta another good option in midfield.
That the Gunners have only just made an inquiry about the midfielder may sound like that they are panicking, but the North London club were linked with him earlier this summer.
In June, L’Equipe reported that Arsenal had shown interest in the 27-year-old.
Interestingly, Fofana is a former Manchester City player.
The Ivorian star was on the books of City from 2013 until 2016.
Fofana failed to make a massive impact at City and joined Udinese in the summer of 2016 for an initial transfer fee of £2.3 million (The Manchester Evening News).

Fofana has scored two goals and given two assists in four Ligue 1 appearances so far this season.
The 27-year-old scored eight goals and provided one assist in 38 league matches last season.
