Arsenal are now in talks to send defender Auston Trusty on loan to newly-promoted Sheffield United this summer.

Auston Trusty could leave Arsenal on loan again with Sheffield United now chasing a deal for the defender.

That is according to The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath, who claims that Arsenal are in talks over a loan exit for Trusty.

Sheffield United are keen to bring Trusty to Bramall Lane, with a season-long deal allegedly in the pipeline.

The Blades don’t have a huge budget to work with this summer and are having to be clever in the market.

Moving for a loan signing like Trusty makes sense for Sheffield United and he presents a naturally left-footed option for Paul Heckingbottom.

Jack Robinson played on the left of Sheffield United’s back three last season but Trusty could now add competition for places.

Arsenal are happy for Trusty to move on and he would surely love a Premier League switch.

Whilst McGrath believes it’s a loan move, The Sheffield Star claim that the Blades are actually chasing a £5million permanent move.

Either way, Sheffield United are pushing to sign Trusty with Arsenal likely to be open to both loan and permanent ofers.

Arsenal could axe two American players amid Auston Trusty rumour

Trusty was outstanding in the Championship last season, enjoying a superb loan spell with Birmingham City.

The 6ft 3in defender won the Birmingham Supporters’ Player of the Season award and was hailed as ‘incredible’ by Birmingham teammate George Friend.

Birmingham would no doubt love to bring Trusty back but he’s now ready to step up from the Championship.

Trusty may now play in the Premier League with Arsenal potentially ready to axe two American players.

The Athletic claimed on Sunday that Arsenal are discussing a deal to send goalkeeper Matt Turner to Nottingham Forest.

Turner and Trusty are United States international teammates but could now leave Arsenal together in search of first-team action elsewhere.

It’s unlikely that either will play a key role under Mikel Arteta this season and they now appear to have offers from other Premier League clubs ahead of the new campagin.
