Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said that he does not want reported Arsenal target Ilkay Gundogan to leave, as quoted in The Daily Mail.
Gundogan has been linked with a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Earlier this week, well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Twitter that Arsenal are among the clubs interested in signing the 31-year-old midfielder.
Romano added that the Gunners’ chances of securing the services of the Germany international midfielder depends on whether or not Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side qualify for the Champions League next season.
However, City manager Guardiola has said that he does not want to sell Gundogan in the summer transfer window.

Pep Guardiola on Arsenal target Ilkay Gundogan
Guardiola told The Daily Mail about Gundogan: “If you ask me personally, at the club, I want Ilkay next season here. There’s no idea, no intention next season for Ilkay not to be here.”
Gunners transfer unlikely
In our opinion, Arsenal are unlikely to be successful in their quest to sign Ilkay Gundogan from Premier League rivals Manchester City even if they qualify for the Champions League.
The German, who earns £150,000 per week (SalarySport), is used to winning Premier League titles and reaching the final stages of the Champions League with City.
Arsenal are unlikely to compete for the league title in the next two seasons, and their record in the Champions League during the years when they featured is not particularly great.
