Arsenal icon Lauren has told Sporting Bet that Gunners midfielder Aaron Ramsey should join West Ham United at the end of his contract, which expires in the summer.

Ramsey confirmed to the Guardian that he would leave the north London club at the end of the season, stating: “I just have to carry on playing my football and do my best for Arsenal this season and I’ll leave the rest with the club.”

The 27-year-old has been linked with moves to Italy as well as a whole host of Premier League clubs, with his future still up in the air when it comes to which club he will eventually join.

Lauren, who was part of Arsenal’s Invincible side, reckons West Ham is the perfect fit for the Wales international as it would see the midfielder become a leader in the dressing room at the London Stadium.

“West Ham could be a great fit for Ramsey should he leave the Gunners. He’s settled in London so he won’t want to move, but West Ham gives him the chance to get first team football whilst becoming a leader in the dressing room.,” Lauren said.

“Ramsey has been a fantastic player and role model at Arsenal, but it seems like he wants to move on now. There has been mixed messages coming out of the club and he’ll be a great asset wherever he decides to go.”

Since joining Arsenal from Cardiff City in the summer of 2011, Ramsey has clocked up 348 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners – scoring at a rate of less than one every six games with 60 goals, as well as creating 61 more.

West Ham have already done business with Arsenal twice this season, signing Jack Wilshere on a free transfer as well as striker Lucas Perez for a fee believed to be in the region of £5million.
