Arsenal are interested in raiding FCSB attacker Ianis Stoica ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.

That’s according to Romanian news outlet Playsport, who claim that Arsenal are lurking with intent.

It’s stated that Arsenal have been scouting Stoica for two months now. The report adds that Arsenal will head to Romania to negotiate directly with FCSB in 2022.

Bologna have failed with a €1.5million (£1million) bid for Stoica, but a move shouldn’t break the banks for Arsenal.

Stoica clearly thinks highly of himself, having compared himself to Kylian Mbappe in terms of his playing style.

Arsenal have some history with Romanian talents. Vlad Dragomir was once in the club ranks whilst Catalin Cirjan is currently at Arsenal.

Who is Arsenal target Ianis Stoica?

Stoica, 18, joined FCSB from Freiburg in 2017 and excelled on loan at Slatina last season.

Primarily a winger at this point, Stoica has hit six goals and two assists in 14 games this term.

Former Romanian international Ilie Dumitrescu haș hailed Stoica, claiming he has ‘extraordinary flair’.

Stoica could be a real talent for the future, joining Mika Biereth and Folarin Balogun in Arsenal’s attacking plans for years to come.

Let’s see if Edu can pull this one off. Arsenal should be able to fend off Bologna for Stoica, but more and more clubs may end up joining the race.
