The Arsenal Under-23 side got the better of their Tottenham Hotspur counterparts in the North London derby on Friday evening, and one of the players who stood out is Hubert Graczyk.

The Arsenal youth team beat their Tottenham counterparts 2-1 at Meadow Park, Boreham Wood in Premier League 2.

Marcelo Flores scored one goal for the young Gunners and was involved in the other.

Flores stood out in the match for Arsenal, and so did his teammate and goalkeeper Graczyk.

Tottenham stepped up their game after going 2-0 down, and had it not been for the heroics of Graczyk, then Arsenal could have actually lost the game.

As stated in the match report on Arsenal’s official website, the 19-year-old goalkeeper made “a series of remarkable stops”.

The report claims that the teenager made an “outstanding” point-blank save to keep out Dane Scarlett’s strike and also kept out J’Neil Bennett’s header.

Replacing Bernd Leno

Graczyk is only 19, but that he is already playing for the Under-23 side shows his quality.

And he was playing in the North London derby against Tottenham too.

The Athletic reported last month that Arsenal will give Bernd Leno permission to leave in the summer transfer window.

The Germany international goalkeeper has fallen behind Aaron Ramsdale in the pecking order and was linked with a move to Newcastle United in the January transfer window.

Now, if Leno leaves, then Arsenal Technical Director Edu will have to find a replacement, and that could cost millions.

Promoting Graczyk to the Arsenal first-team squad could save Edu millions.
