Arsenal have released a statement on their official website this evening about Thomas Partey ahead of the Premier League game against Manchester City.
The Gunners will take on City at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the league on Sunday evening.
Ahead of the game, the Gunners have suggested that defensive midfielder Partey could be available.
“Left hamstring,” reads the injury update on Partey on Arsenal’s official website. “Thomas is progressing well from a strain to his hamstring against Aston Villa on 6 February and will continue to be assessed ahead of Sunday’s match.”
Thomas Partey to play against Manchester City?
Partey has been on the sidelines in recent weeks. In fact, the Ghana international defensive midfielder has had injury problems since his move from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2020.

According to WhoScored, the 27-year-old has made nine starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners so far this season, providing one assist in the process.
The Ghana international defensive midfielder has also made one appearance in the Europa League for the North London club this campaign, according to WhoScored.
City defensive midfielder Rodri played with Partey at Atletico, and the 24-year-old – who cost the Citizens €70 million (£60.53 million) in transfer fees, according to Goal.com – has told Sky Sports that the 27-year-old is “a very important player for Arsenal” and is looking forward to facing him if he is fit for tomorrow’s game.
