Arsenal bid for Newcastle United target Victor Osimhen

The Italian news outlet has claimed that Arsenal have bid €60 million (£51.38 million) for the Nigeria international striker, who is on the radar of Premier League rivals Newcastle as well.

However, that bid from the Gunners have been turned down.

Napoli will not sell the 23-year-old striker for anything less than €100 million (£85.64 million), according to Il Mattino.

CalcioMercato reported earlier this month that Newcastle are keen on signing Osimhen, who earns £112,000-a-week at Napoli (SalarySport).

Magpies need to step up

In our view, if Newcastle United are keen on signing Victor Osimhen in the summer transfer window, then, like Arsenal, they need to make an offer to Napoli.

There is no point in waiting.

Newcastle should just put in an offer and see what happens.

Now, Napoli may want £85 million for the youngster, but if Newcastle do not think that he is worth it, then they should made a bid lower than the sum.

The Napoli no. 9 scored 14 goals and gave two assists in 23 Serie A starts and scored four goals in three Europa League starts this past season.
