Chelsea are expected to launch a bid worth around €32million (£28million) for Montpellier forward Elye Wahi.
Arsenal have made contact for the signing of Elye Wahi but Chelsea are expected to make a hefty bid.
That is according to RMC Sport over in France, who claim that Chelsea are likely to make a bid for Wahi very soon.
It’s stated that Chelsea will submit an offer of around €32million (£28million) for Wahi in the coming days.
Chelsea’s plan is to sign Wahi and then send him straight on loan to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg.
Todd Boehly and BlueCo recently took over at Strasbourg, meaning they are now a partner club of Chelsea.
The problem here is that Wahi allegedly isn’t all that interested in heading on loan to Strasbourg.
We can hardly blame him; Montpellier finished 10 points and three places ahead of Strasbourg in the Ligue 1 table last term.
Wahi may feel like he is taking a step back by making this move and Chelsea’s approach could face problems as a result.

RMC’s report claims that other clubs are hovering with intent when it comes to Wahi’s future.
It’s stated that both Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have enquired about signing Wahi.
We would be surprised to see Arsenal make a move for Wahi, even if he is clearly talented.
The 20-year-old smashed 19 goals in 33 games for Montpellier last season, becoming one of the top young forwards in French football.
Wahi appears to have a big future ahead of him but Arsenal just doesn’t feel like the right move.
The Gunners are so stocked on attackers that they are willing to let Folarin Balogun – who scored more Ligue 1 goals than Wahi last season – leave the club.
Mikel Arteta has the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and Kai Havertz at his disposal in attack.
Signing Wahi just wouldn’t make sense right now and Chelsea seems like the most probable move – if they can change his mind about that Strasbourg loan.
