According to La Repubblica, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are interested in signing Sven Botman, a player who turned down Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.

La Repubblica have reported that Arsenal and Manchester United have made contact in regard to signing Botman from Lille in the summer transfer window.

Newcastle United and AC Milan are the two sides most heavily linked with the 22-year-old Dutch central defender.

Interestingly, Arsenal’s bitter North London rivals Tottenham wanted to sign the youngster in the middle of the past season.

Milan Live reported in March 2022 that Lille defender Botman rejected both Newcastle and Tottenham in January.

Could Arsenal succeed with Sven Botman after Tottenham Hotspur failure?

In our view, Arsenal may end up getting rejected by Sven Botman just like Tottenham Hotspur were.

Milan have just won the Serie A title and will play in the Champions League next season.

The Rossoneri are back to being a force to be reckoned again, and things are looking very promising for them.

Botman won the Ligue 1 title with Lille in 2020-21, and the chance to move to Milan could be too tempting to turn down.

As reported by The Telegraph in May 2022, Milan are keen on signing the centre-back.
