Simon Jordan has backed Arsenal to use their ‘imagery’ and ‘ideology’ to sign players like Dušan Vlahović, as he told talkSPORT.
The former Crystal Palace owner added that Arsenal have ‘a history’ and that can help them ‘sell’ themselves to players who wouldn’t join them usually because of their current situation.
Arsenal aren’t in Europe at all and they haven’t played Champions League football for a number of years, although, they are currently sitting fourth in the Premier League table.
Nonetheless, Mikel Arteta is keen for the club to push for Fiorentina’s highly-rated striker, Vlahović, who is valued at £62 million, according to the Independent.
But there are suggestions that he is stumbling on a move to north London because he is unsure at to where the Gunners are at.
talkSPORT pundit Jordan made it clear that this is where Arsenal need ‘very good’ people in the boardroom that can help sell the club’s history to the player because they are an ‘iconic’ club in English football.
“Arsenal have got a history,” said Jordan. “They have got an imagery and ideology that sells things into peoples minds.
“So, if you have got a very good chief executive and a very good football manager and a team that’s occupying fourth spot. You will give yourself a chance to sell somebody the vision.
“For example, ‘we with you, you are the missing part that completes us. You give us the opportunity to be fourth in the league and play in the Champions League, the thing that you want whilst playing for one of the most iconic clubs in English football’.”

Arsenal may have suffered for a number of years now and, at times, it may seem as though things are getting worse.
But, the club have done enough over the decades for them to warrant a pull in English football and still attract big-name stars.
The issue here is that Arsenal have the image to pull off such a move and shock the footballing world.
But are those in the Emirates boardroom capable of pulling off such a deal? This is where they will be properly tested because it would be something if they manage to get this over the line.
