Celtic won’t be signing Arsenal’s Arthur Okonkwo any time soon.

Celtic managed to snap up one former Arsenal talent before the transfer deadline by snapping up 16-year-old ace Armstrong Okoflex – but one of his former teammates won’t be following him.
Back in April, the Daily Record reported that Celtic were pursuing a deal for Arsenal goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, as he had yet to sign a pro deal with the Gunners.
Okonkwo turned 17 earlier this month and was therefore eligible for a professional contract with Arsenal, with RB Leipzig also keeping close tabs on the teenager.
Either side could have attempted to lure Okonkwo away from North London, but their hopes have been officially ended in recent days.
Arsenal have confirmed on their official website that Okonkwo has put pen-to-paper on a first professional contract with the club, tying his future to Unai Emery’s side.

That now means that Celtic won’t be able to lure Okonkwo to Scotland, or if they did still want to, it would be more of a struggle to prise him away from the Emirates Stadium.
Celtic may yet look for another young goalkeeper elsewhere, but their interest in Okonkwo won’t lead to a reunion with Okoflex after the announcement.
