Arsenal have put in some disappointing performances in the last few weeks.

Arsenal legend Lee Dixon has told ITV Sport that it is a good sign Arsenal are playing badly and still picking up points.

After losing to Liverpool on the opening day the Gunners have impressed this season and are currently 18 games undefeated in all competitions.

They have disappointed in recent weeks, though, failing to beat Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain and generally putting in poor performances in all three games.

That has seen them come in for criticism, with suggestions that failing to win in such games shows they are not genuine contenders this season.

Dixon looks at it another way, however, saying it is positive they are churning out results despite not playing well.

“It’s 18 undefeated in all competitions, which is a great record,” he told ITV.

“They’re churning results out and it’s a good sign that if you’re not playing well and getting points and the odd win here and there.”

It is now up to Arsenal to turn around their current poor form and get back to winning ways as soon as possible.

Luckily they have a much more agreeable set of games to come, with clashes against Bournemouth, Southampton and West Ham in the coming weeks.

Those are games they will be confident of winning and if they do so, perhaps the doubts that have arisen about them in recent weeks may begin to disappear.
